Sheehan World "Man of the Year"

Philadelphia Realtor Mike McCann was named The Sheehan World Man of the Year by publisher Kathy Sheehan after he successfully sold her three-bedroom Art Museum rowhouse this summer.

McCann, known as "The Real Estate Man," sold the home less than three months after listing it, and for nearly full price.

"McCann was just terrific," Sheehan said. "He hosted an open house and enticed numerous other real estate agents to bring buyers through. He counseled me about lowering the price after two months went by, but eventually brought me an offer that was more than the lowered price and nearly as much as the original asking price.

"I've dealt with other Philadelphia real estate agents before, and Mike is the best!" she said.

McCann was aided in the sale by his all-star team who kept Sheehan informed about the progress of the sale every step of the way.

Sheehan also thanked her many friends in Philadelphia who helped her through the difficulty of a long-distance rental and, finally, sale. They spread the word about the sale, helped furnish it after the tenants left and gave her moral support. One friend, Josh Palley, even helped remove debris and house-sat so that the utility companies could read the meters!

Sheehan's only regret, she added, was that McCann presumably had to share his well-deserved commission with the buyer's agent.
