Sheehan World Emerges from Covid-19 Quarantine
The Sheehan World emerged from a self-imposed quarantine in 2022 after carefully avoiding the Covid-19 virus.
"In fact, I'm still a COVID virgin," publisher Kathy Sheehan declared in December 2022. "Pretty amazing considering the prince -- now king -- who is my husband has had it twice!"
Sheehan explained that she was not actually in "quarantine" for two years, but she wore a mask constantly, avoided crowded indoor spaces, and stayed in isolation whenever Prince Charles (later King Charles) was Covid-positive.
Sheehan began wearing surgical masks after contracting bronchitis a few years ago from the forest-fire smoke that blanketed Bellingham, WA. Her mask wearing extended to allergy season and any other times when the air quality was poor. When the Covid pandemic began in 2020, she was one of the few people who had a supply of surgical masks to immediately don. She then began sewing fabric masks for herself, family and friends.
Sheehan has received several Covid vaccines and still takes precautions that some think are silly and not needed.
But she doesn't care. One benefit to being uber cautious during the pandemic is that she walks in her neighborhood park more frequently and cooks at home more. In fact, she has become so proficient at making home-made granola that the King has banished store-bought granola from their home/castle.
As the Covid virus seems to be slowly becoming less lethal to vaccinated people, Sheehan has pledged to rejuvenate the world's leading online newspaper for Kathy Sheehan's world.
"My New Year's resolution for 2023 is to stop wasting so much time on Facebook and Twitter and give Sheehan World readers what they want to read -- and more regularly," she said.
