15-hanky Sheehan weddingOSTERVILLE, MASS. Rosemary Sheehan, the former Rosemary Komenda, turned more than 100 friends and relatives into sniffling babies as she wed her beloved Bob, the last Sheehan bachelor, on Cape Cod Sept. 14, 2002.
The couple, who live in Cambridge, Mass., held their fairy-tale wedding near the bride's family home in Centerville, Mass. Three guys named Mark (AKA Mark cubed) served as groomsmen and three friends of Rosemary shared bridesmaid honors, helping to arrange more than 500 stems of roses and other flowers for the event. An Irish band played dancing and rebel music under a large tent near a wind-swept beach, and two disc jockeys kept the crowd on its feet for nearly seven hours. Champagne, wine and beer flowed freely and a never-ending parade of helpers served oysters, lamb, shrimp, clams, chicken and other delicious food throughout a mild September evening. The groom, who has changed his name from Robert to Bob, made it on time to the wedding despite grounding his sailboat in Hyannis Harbor a few hours before the wedding. He wore a stylish tux with tails! She donned a strapless, bejewelled gown and a short veil that almost blew away in the wind. A short video-clip and more photos are available for viewing.
